New Clients

Our intake process

New clients and referrers are welcome to make an inquiry with the practice by email or phone.

If our psychologists have availability, a brief screening call will be conducted by a psychologist. This is to determine your needs and the suitability of your referral to our psychologists.

Following this, your psychologist will make contact with you to schedule an initial consultation. An online intake form will then be forwarded to you which includes information regarding confidentiality, consent, and payment of fees. We can also provide you with access to the patient portal where you can have access to your upcoming appointments, invoices, and where you can modify personal details when required.

Following your initial session, your psychologist will arrange ongoing consultations with you.

Fees & Rebates

Fees

All psychology services are exempt from GST. Payments are typically made on the day of consultation and are processed online by credit or debit card or bank transfer by prior arrangement. Fees for a standard session vary depending on your clinician’s level of experience and length of session. Further details of our fees can be obtained on request by emailing [email protected].

Fee Assistance

If you are experiencing financial hardship, please advise your psychologist to discuss the rebate and payment options.

Referrals

A referral from your General Practitioner (GP), paediatrician or psychiatrist is required to access Medicare rebates for clinical psychology sessions.
If you plan to pay privately or use private health insurance for your treatment, you do not need a referral.

Medicare

Medicare rebates are available for psychology services provided under a Mental Health Care Plan.

A mental health care plan is completed by your GP and provides access to Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual sessions and 10 group therapy sessions per person, per calendar year*. These sessions can be conducted face to face or via online therapy.

Your referring GP will schedule a return visit to review your progress after the first six psychological therapy sessions. At this point, your GP will provide a re-referral for an additional four sessions, if required.

As of 01/11/2023, Medicare will rebate:

  • $137.05 per standard consultation with a Clinical Psychologist
  • $93.35 per standard consultation with a General Psychologist/Clinical Psychology Registrar

Medicare rebates will typically be processed on your behalf on the day of your consultation once you have provided a valid referral.

Additional Medicare Rebates

An additional 10 Medicare subsidised psychological therapy sessions are available from 01/10/2020 for people who have used their initial 10 psychological therapy sessions under a Mental health care plan. A new referral is required to access these additional rebates.
